J. George Hetherington is the President of the firm and chair of the firm’s Corporate Department. He practices in the areas of health care and corporate law. Mr. Hetherington received his B.S. degree, with high honors, in Business Administration (Marketing) from San Diego State University and his J.D. degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. He has been with the firm since 1978. Mr. Hetherington represents a number of hospitals, long term care facilities, medical groups, ancillary care providers, management service organizations, provider associations, health insurers and health maintenance organizations. Mr. Hetherington’s corporate practice revolves around mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and other transactional work involving business entities, commercial real property, securities law and advising public and privately held Hawaii corporations on a variety of business and regulatory matters.
