Laura Anderson became a director Torkildson, Katz, Moore, Hetherington & Harris in 2009 after joining the firm’s Business Litigation Department in 1999. She practiced pharmacy and had substantial experience in health care management prior to entering law school. She served as law clerk to the Hon. Steven H. Levinson of the Hawaii Supreme Court from 1997-1999. Ms. Anderson practices business litigation and health care law, and provides advice and counsel on health care regulatory compliance to hospitals, clinics, physician group practices and pharmacies in Hawaii on such topics as:

• the HIPAA Privacy and Security Regulations;
• the federal Anti-kickback and Stark Laws;
• Medicare and Medicaid;
• Insurance billing issues; and
• Hawaii’s Certificate of Need program.
