The Search Advisory Committee at the University of Hawaiʻi has been selected and is currently searching for the next director of the Institute for Astronomy to be named and/or in place by fall 2020.
Newton J. Chu, Director of the Hawaii Island office for Torkildson, Katz, Hetherington, Harris & Knorek, Attorneys at Law, was named co-chair of the committee by UH Mānoa Provost Michael Bruno. He will be involved in overseeing the selection process for the next director.
During the process, which will convene over the fall semester, the committee will recommend finalists to Bruno, who will then recommend a selectee to UH President David Lassner. Finalists will be invited to the University of Hawaiʻi campus in the spring 2020 semester.
